Tracy Myers Helps Bring Hope to Life Through New Documentary Film About Casa Hogar Children's Home

Updated: Jun 8

For many people, a movie is simply entertainment. For others, it can become a powerful tool for sharing stories that inspire change and shine a light on important causes. That was exactly the mission behind a new documentary film about Casa Hogar, a children's home in Acapulco, Mexico, and I was honored to be part of the journey.

In a joint effort with Entrepreneurs International Foundation, I served as a Producer on an inspiring documentary from CelebrityFilms®, directed by Emmy® Award-winning filmmaker Nick Nanton. Production for the film began in January 2013 and focused on telling the remarkable story of Casa Hogar and the life-changing work being done there every day.

Located in Acapulco, Mexico, Casa Hogar provides care, shelter, education, hope, and love to orphaned and abandoned children. More than just a place to live, the home creates a nurturing Christian environment where children can develop the skills, confidence, and support system they need to build brighter futures.

The documentary takes viewers behind the scenes to see firsthand how Casa Hogar is transforming lives in a region facing significant economic challenges. Through education, guidance, and genuine compassion, the organization is helping children overcome difficult circumstances and discover new possibilities.

According to director Nick Nanton, the impact of Casa Hogar is truly extraordinary.

"They are bringing in kids from the streets and providing them with not only food, shelter and education, but most importantly the love of a family environment."

In addition to filming the documentary, the production team was able to make a direct impact on the children's lives by renovating the home's library and computer center. The project included hundreds of new books and ten new computers, providing valuable educational resources for the children.

While creating a film is always an exciting experience, this project was about something much bigger than cameras and production schedules.

"Being Producer of this film was an incredible experience," I said. "However, it was more about helping those kids than making a movie. The movie was just a bonus."

The opportunity to work alongside the talented team at CelebrityFilms® was especially meaningful. This project followed my involvement as Executive Producer of the documentary Esperanza, which highlighted the work of Esperanza International in the Dominican Republic. I was also previously featured in the Emmy®-nominated documentary Car Men.

What made this project so special was seeing the difference that can be made when business leaders, charitable organizations, and filmmakers come together with a common purpose. The documentary serves as a reminder that success is not measured solely by business achievements, but also by the lives we impact along the way.

Casa Hogar is providing much more than food and shelter. It is providing hope, opportunity, and a sense of family to children who need it most. I am grateful to have played a small role in helping tell their story and bring greater awareness to the incredible work they are doing.

Sometimes the most important stories are the ones that remind us of our responsibility to serve others. This is one of those stories.
