I remembers the old saying: “If you lie with the dogs then you’ll rise with the fleas.” That’s why I encourage you to look closely at your relationships going into 2014. Put them into one of two categories: toxic or nourishing. It’s easy to spot the difference. Toxic people have a tendency to make you feel inadequate, angry, frustrated, or guilty. On the other hand, nourishing people make it a point to make others feel loved, valued, capable, appreciated and respected. Milton Glaser developed an easy test to determine if someone was toxic or nourishing in your relationship with them: After spending time with someone, observe whether you are more energized or less energized. If you are more tired then you have been poisoned. If you have more energy you have been nourished. PLEASE take time to detoxify the poisonous relationships in your life as soon as possible. This is one of the easiest ways to move onward and upward in 2014! Accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative. It’s an easy formula to follow and it works.
