There are certain events on my calendar that I look forward to every single year, and the NIADA Convention & Expo sits right at the top of that list.
This June will be especially meaningful because I've been selected to educate dealers at the NIADA Convention & Expo for a record 13th time. Even better? I'll be speaking about my favorite subject in the world: marketing and advertising.
For those who know me, that probably comes as no surprise.
I've always believed that great marketing isn't about selling cars. It's about telling stories, building relationships, creating trust, and giving people a reason to choose you over the countless alternatives available today. Marketing is what allows independent dealers to compete, grow, and thrive regardless of market conditions.
If you're attending the convention this year, I'd love for you to join me at my session. My goal is simple: share practical ideas, proven strategies, and real-world lessons that dealers can implement immediately when they return home.
And afterward, please stop by and say hello.
Better yet, let's take a selfie.
Seriously.
Life moves fast. The years seem to pass quicker than ever. The photos we take today become the memories we treasure tomorrow. I've learned that some of my favorite convention memories aren't from the stage. They're from the conversations in the hallways, the dinners with friends, the laughs shared between sessions, and the photos that capture those moments forever.
Speaking of memories, this year also marks a special milestone.
I attended my very first NIADA Convention & Expo back in 2000. That means this year represents my 26th anniversary of attending the event.
It's hard to believe.
Over the past quarter-century, NIADA has helped shape me into a better dealer, a better business owner, and a better leader. I've learned countless lessons from some of the smartest people in our industry. I've discovered new ideas, challenged old assumptions, and developed friendships that have lasted decades.
In many ways, the NIADA Convention feels less like a business conference and more like a family reunion.
Every year I look forward to reconnecting with old friends, meeting new ones, and celebrating an industry filled with hardworking people who genuinely care about helping others.
To everyone who has been part of this journey over the last 26 years, thank you.
And to those attending this year's convention, I can't wait to see you there.
Come learn, come network, come make memories.
And don't forget...we're taking that selfie.
See you at NIADA!
